Tuturing FAQ

Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions about 'Personalized Tutoring Services by Cassie':

Q: What subjects and grades do you teach?
A: I tutor in all subjects, K-12, as well as teaching study skills. I also tutor for those who are continuing their education and just need an extra set of eyes and someone to help proof-read their work. I also teach voice lessons for those aspiring singers, again any age group welcome.

Q: Do you work with ESL (English as a Second Language) students?
A: Of course. I am tutoring students of all ages who would like to learn English. Families are also welcome and can be booked specifically through special appointment.

Q: Where do you teach lessons?
A: I currently teach in the Dumfries/Woodbridge, VA area. I stay within this general area and prefer to teach here closer to home. Lessons can be done at your home, my home or another meeting place such as a library or other available area which provides enough quiet time for our sessions. I am open to other suggestions the 'tutoree' suggests.

Q: What do you charge per lesson?
A: I charge various rates for different situations. However, I charge my lessons at a competitive rate with the local Learning Centers in the area, and understand the current economical situation is hard on everyone. Some people may only need or want one lesson, while others would like a weekly, multiple times per week, bi-weekly or monthly. Please contact me about your personal tutoring needs and we will set up a payment plan.

Q: What will I need to bring with me to my first consultation?
A: For the first consultation, which is 1 hour, I would suggest that you bring the subjects, specific papers/ projects or syllabus of the course you need help with. For students who would like help w/ bringing up specific grades, bringing progress reports to monitor growth is suggested. I also suggest bringing a folder, binder or notebook dedicated to lessons, this way you can stay organized with any notes/ paperwork or handouts given during lessons.
